Competition & Markets Authority Market Study Launched in a Win For Fix Streaming

The Competition & Markets Authority has launched its market study into music and streaming services, in a historic win for the Fix Streaming and Broken Record campaigns.

The market study, which was recommended by MPs in the revolutionary music streaming inquiry report, will take approximately a year.

The CMA is inviting comments from songwriters, composers and performers on the study’s statement of scope until 17 February.

The Musicians’ Union will be submitting comments, and encouraging members to do the same. Members are advised to keep an eye out on upcoming communications for more information on how to participate.
