Naomi Pohl Formally Takes Up Role of MU General Secretary

Following her election to the role on Monday 7 March, today on Wednesday 23 March, Naomi Pohl formally takes up the role of MU General Secretary.

Naomi Pohl formally takes up the role of MU General Secretary today, Wednesday 23 March, following her election to the role on Monday 7 March.

Naomi said: “Coming out of the pandemic and post-Brexit, the Musicians’ Union is more crucial to musicians than ever. I am thrilled to have been elected by our members and I am committed to delivering for every musician, wherever they are based and however they make music.”

Horace Trubridge will be staying with the MU for a handover period until September while the union recruits for a third Secretariat member.

As well as handing over duties to Naomi, he is elected Vice President of the International Federation of Musicians (FIM), he will remain involved in the #FixStreaming campaign until September, and he has also been elected to the PPL Board in his own right.
