The STUC will be holding a mass pre-budget lobby and demonstration outside the Scottish Parliament between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on Thursday 8 December.

The STUC are asking trade union members from across Scotland to attend this event en-masse alongside anti-poverty campaigners and others from across Civic Scotland who are supportive of the People’s Plan for Action.

This event is timed to happen ahead of the Scottish Government’s budget on the 15 December, to maximise the pressure on them to go further to protect ordinary working people from the Cost of Living Crisis.

It will also coincide with the launch of the STUC’s new research report on the progressive taxation options open to the Scottish Government under their pre-existing powers, to enable them to fund the People’s Plan for Action and real Cost of Living pay rises for Scotland’s Public Sector Workforce.
